Take it away from me Neil…
A little bit into your background?
I’m just another average Joe. I love hanging out with friends, watching basketball, spending time with my family, and working.
I’ve founded a few Internet companies such as Crazy Egg and KISSmetrics and I blog at Quick Sprout.
My goal in life is to help other entrepreneurs succeed.
The defining moment – that ha-ha moment that herald your journey to where you are today?
There was really no ah-ha moment. Instead over the years I learned what not to do. I made so many mistakes, that I eventually had to do well.
Over the years I learned that I could increase my odds of success if I didn’t repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Your biggest entrepreneurial failure/mistake?
I lost over a million dollars in one business. You can learn more about it here at My Million Dollar Mistake
Your biggest entrepreneurial success?
I haven’t head a big success yet. Or at least I don’t feel I have. Compared to people like Mark Zuckerburg or Elon Musk, I have a long ways to go. Hopefully I can build something that the world loves and wants to use like the entrepreneurs mentioned above.
Your favorite quote and how you’ve used the quote in your entrepreneurial journey
– Wilson Mizner
I follow this advice by just trying to help other people. If you can help people, eventually people will talk great things about you.
Your favorite book(s) and lessons you’ve learn from them
I don’t have any favorite books to be honest. I wish I did, but I work so much that I haven’t had time to read a book in years.
If you are to start from the scratch today and you only have a $200 bill in your pocket, your laptop with internet connection, what will you do to get to back to where you are today?
I would go get a nine to five job and save the money. I wouldn’t want to spend that money as I think I could get a good paying job pretty fast and get equity in fast growing startup.
I would then save all of my cash and build a software company on the side, which would cost more than $200.
Your greatest life and business blessing?
My family supports me, which is a great life blessing. And I have the privilege to work with awesome people, which is my biggest business blessing.
